Money – most people’s favourite subject! But for eons it seems that many of us have been conditioned by a world consciousness that sees money as something separate from our spiritual life – at best a necessary evil, at worst the root of all evil.
Inevitably, this way of thinking has led to inner conflicts resulting in a "poverty consciousness" that sees lack as somehow more pious than abundance. This is both a profound misunderstanding and a gross misrepresentation of a great spiritual truth! So let’s get one thing sorted out straight away: money is a symbol, an effect, not a cause! It’s a symbol of Universal Substance, the infinite and inexhaustible energy of Life itself.
To see money or prosperity as evil, suggests that a person is unconsciously sabotaging themself if they’re interpreting the essence, the very substance of Infinite Spirit, as evil. Our task is to correct this way of thinking and to build a new relationship with the idea of prosperity. We can start right now by claiming:
“I believe that money and all forms of prosperity are good. In fact they’re wonderful because they allow me to live in ease and comfort, free from stress or difficulty.”
This is a perfectly valid spiritual claim! Our aspiration for comfort, as well as freedom from stress, is our desire to align, or realign ourself with a fuller and more harmonious expression of life!
Remember. To live in a state of constant financial worry is to live in a consciousness of lack, which is a state of separation from the truth of our being. To desire prosperity is to desire a greater experience and expression of the abundant, all-sufficient nature of inner Spirit.
The key is to stop looking for money and other forms of prosperity ‘out there’, and to begin building a 'prosperity consciousness' right where we are. This is not about chasing effects; it’s about establishing the cause within our own minds. The most powerful tool we have for this inner work is our conscious thought and our intention to retrain our mind by aligning it with this higher truth.
In other words, we’re to take charge of our thinking and impress our subconscious mind with the idea of unlimited prosperity. To this end, let’s consider the following two very powerful affirmations:
“I AM AN UNLIMITED MAGNET FOR THE GREATER EXPERIENCE OF WEALTH, HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN MY LIFE.”
The key to this affirmation lies in understanding that our consciousness is the magnet. We’re not trying to become a magnet; we’re simply acknowledging the truth of what we ALREADY are. A mind focused on lack always attracts the experience of lack. A mind consciously and consistently tuned to the idea of abundance becomes an irresistible magnetic force for good.
Note that that this affirmation links wealth with health and happiness. True prosperity is not just about money; it’s a holistic experience of wellbeing in every area of our lives.
Our second suggested affirmation is:
“I CONSCIOUSLY LIVE IN THE CONTINUED AWARENESS OF MY FINANCIAL FREEDOM NOW!”
Let’s focus on 3 crucial words:
‘Consciously’ – this is a deliberate act, not a passive wish.
‘Continued’ – this is not a one-time affirmation, but an ongoing state of mind we choose to inhabit throughout our day.
‘Now’ – this is our point of action, our point of power. We’re not hoping for freedom in the future; we’re choosing to live in the awareness of freedom right now. We accept the Spiritual Truth that we are, at our core, already free and unbound. We then allow this Truth to express itself. We "assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled," and let the outer world of form match our inner conviction.
As we build this consciousness, it’s important to understand the Law of Circulation. To be a magnet for prosperity we must be a clear channel for it to flow through us. This means releasing any fear, such as the fear of giving, spending, or lack, as well as the fear of receiving!
We learn to give of our time, talents, and resources with a consciousness of abundance, knowing that the Source within us is inexhaustible. A mind that’s afraid to let go of money is a mind that’s affirming lack. A mind that gives freely and joyfully is a mind that’s constantly affirming faith in unlimited supply.
Joyfully, let’s release any old or conflicting ideas about money. Instead, let’s see it as a useful, good, and spiritual symbol of the infinite abundance that is our birthright. Don’t hesitate; commit to the inner work of building a consciousness of prosperity now!
Life responds by manifesting as the beautiful, tangible expression of our new-found self-awareness.
